Fewkes Huff Management athlete Jake Hill is poised to take on one of the biggest endurance races in the world next weekend (May 14–17) after confirming that he will contest the ADAC Nürburgring 24 Hours with Lionspeed GP.
Teaming up with 2021 Daytona 24 LMP2 winner Kyle Tilley and Lionspeed team principal and former double class winner at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Patrick Kolb, the British racer will compete in the coveted event aboard a Porsche 911 GT3 R (992.2) in the SP9 Pro/Am class.
After enjoying a decade of success in the British Touring Car Championship, this year has seen Hill begin to forge a career in sports cars, most notably competing in the 24H European Series with Era Motorsport.
With a desire to test himself in some of the world’s most prestigious endurance races, the 32-year-old has spent the past few months preparing to tackle the legendary Nordschleife circuit in Germany twice around the clock.
Having earned his Grade A Permit for the venue at the beginning of April, Hill and Lionspeed GP further underlined their credentials recently by setting the 11th-fastest lap time during an ultra-competitive qualifying session at NLS4.
Having aligned himself with former two-time class winners Lionspeed GP, the 2024 BTCC Drivers’ Champion is relishing the prospect of going wheel-to-wheel with some of the biggest names in world motorsport at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, including four-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen.
Jake Hill: “I’m incredibly excited to be participating in the Nürburgring 24 Hours this year. It has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, so to now have the opportunity to race in it alongside Kyle and Patrick is really special.
“These past few weeks have been focused on securing a spot on the grid — firstly by earning the correct permit and then by getting laps under my belt in GT3 machinery. It’s been a really enjoyable experience so far, that’s for sure.
“Having the opportunity to team up with Lionspeed GP has been fantastic as well. They’re a brilliant team with real pedigree at the Nordschleife. I’ve no doubt that Kyle, Patrick and I will work well together, and we’ll give everything we’ve got to come away with a strong result.”
Will Fewkes, Fewkes Huff Management Co-Founder: “We’re delighted that Jake has the opportunity to compete in what is not only one of the biggest endurance races in Europe, but also one of the biggest in the world.
“This programme is something we have all collectively worked towards over recent months, so it’s great to see it come to fruition. Jake, Kyle, Patrick and Lionspeed GP are a great fit together, and we’re confident they can achieve a strong result in the 24-hour race.”
Rob Huff, Fewkes Huff Management Co-Founder: “There really is nowhere else like the Nürburgring, so from a driver’s perspective, Jake is going to have an incredible experience competing in the 24-hour race.
“We obviously know he is a world-class driver, but seeing how he has performed both at the Nürburgring and in the 24H European Series has been fantastic. He’s very much putting himself on the international map, and I’m sure he will do exactly that again this weekend.”
